Village Acres Farm and FoodShed Mission Statement

Village Acres Farm and FoodShed Mission Statement

Village Acres Farm  and FoodShed is committed to growing food and building relationships that are sustaining, restorative, and transformative for our customers, employees, and selves.

Food sustains us and keeps us aware of the limitations of our humanity.

The conversion of food (i.e. nature) into human energy and consciousness is a reminder that restorative and transformative processes undergird and connect all of life on earth.

And finally, from our faith tradition, the centrality of the open table to the ministry of Christ provides an example of how the practice of radical inclusiveness around food established both spiritual and socio-economic practices that have proven sustaining, restorative, and transformative for human communities through the centuries.

With that in mind, we envision The FoodShed at Village Acres to become a centering place for the Village Acres Farm.  A structure that helps us focus on the mission of the farm, and the core functions necessary to effectively serve our mission in both the short and the long term.
